The Through Bore Packer can be used with glass plugs, back pressure valves, or any flow control device.
When the packer is used with glass plugs, otherwise known as Intervention Disappearing Smart Plug (IDSP), the configuration offers a temporary barrier system. The IDSP can act as a pressure barrier during work in the well, for later “disappear” the plug and become a large through bore packer. Consequently, the packer can be left in hole during production for later and time convenient retrieval.
